The Wolves squad is expected to undergo significant change during the summer transfer window.
At the point of Gary O’Neil’s departure in December, very few would’ve anticipated the success that Vitor Pereira would go on to record with the Wolves squad.
Wolves’ defeat to Man City ended a six-game winning streak in the Premier League, putting the Old Gold within touching distance of 12th.
For all of the highs that Pereira has reached with his squad, there’s expected to be a vast change over the summer, with exits and arrivals anticipated.

Why Wolves can’t sell Tommy Doyle this summer
Matheus Cunha will leave Wolves in the summer, giving Pereira a sizeable void to fill once his star player has departed.
Though replacing Cunha will be the Old Gold’s primary concern, there are other exits to see to, including those around the first team.
Tommy Doyle’s future is in doubt as he continues to struggle in the new manager’s system, leading the way to a probable exit in the summer.
Pereira isn’t convinced by Doyle, making the midfielder’s departure all the more imaginable, but there’s one pressing reason why letting the 23-year-old leave for good would not be wise.
Wolves signed Doyle for £4.3m in the summer, which was a strong deal for the Midlands club, but an even stronger one for Manchester City.
Upon watching their academy product leave, Man City inserted a buy-back clause and a 50% sell-on fee for Doyle, meaning that Pep Guardiola’s side will receive a sizeable windfall for the Englishman’s future sale.
For this reason, selling the 2024 signing permanently in the summer would be risky for Wolves, who would be smart to hold onto the midfielder and release him on a loan.
A loan could allow Doyle’s value to rise, which in turn, could hand Wolves a greater future sale fee with Man City on alert to claim their windfall.
Profit history must prompt Wolves to loan Doyle
Given Pereira’s assessment of Doyle, it looks unlikely that the 23-year-old will play again in Old Gold this season.
Championship clubs are already aware of O’Neil’s signing’s situation, which could open the door to a summer exit.
Loaning Doyle would be smart for Wolves, who could watch their unwanted player’s value soar if a successful campaign in the second tier is achieved.

History will tell you that, for Wolves, loaning a player to the Championship to then sell on has boosted finances, letting Morgan Gibbs-White spread his wings at Sheffield United before cashing in for £42.5m.
Naturally, it’s not thought that Doyle would generate a profit as high as Gibbs-White, but the evidence is there to persuade Wolves into maximising the midfielder’s value as much as possible.
City are in an advantageous position with such a massive sell-on fee in place, giving Wolves added incentive to explore the most appropriate method to squeeze the best price from the misplaced player.
