Unlikely Wolves star can give Vitor Pereira selection headache involving Jackson Tchatchoua

Jackson Tchatchoua signed for Wolves earlier in the summer and brought an immense amount of excitement with him.

The Cameroonian has been likened to Adama Traore, and his pace can be a real asset for the Old Gold going forward.

Tchatchoua is already the fastest player in the Premier League, but he may have to start looking over his shoulder.

There is one Wolves player who has started the season extremely well, and it has given Vitor Pereira a selection headache he likely did not expect.

That is due to the player not usually being a right wing-back.

Hugo Bueno was great in the right wing-back role

Hugo Bueno did not have the chance to impress Vitor Pereira last season due to being sent out on loan under the watch of Gary O’Neil.

The Spaniard spent last year at Feyenoord, and across pre-season and the start of the Premier League campaign he has had the chance to show he’s capable of playing under the Portuguese.

Besides the game against Newcastle, Bueno has primarily played out on the left-hand side due to being left-footed.

Throughout the season so far, he has impressed out there, pushing David Moller Wolfe to the bench quite often.

But on Saturday, Vitor Pereira tried something different.

The 22-year-old was positioned as the right wing-back, and despite it being an unfamiliar role, he still continued to showcase his qualities.

Bueno created the most chances of any Wolves player, and as they are struggling to score goals, that is an essential quality the squad needs right now.

He was not shy to get involved in duels, and new signing Ladislav Krejci noticed this quality about many of his Wolves teammates.

The performance of Bueno has certainly given Pereira something to think about for the upcoming games.

Hugo Bueno should be undroppable for Vitor Pereira

Whether it is as the left or right wing-back, Hugo Bueno has staked a promising claim to start for Wolves going forward.

The defender is leading four stats among the squad in key areas so far, with the most pressing being chances created.

Wolves are bottom of the league in points, but they are also bottom in xG according to FotMob.

They’ll need to play as many of their chance creating players as possible in order to start scoring goals and putting points on the board.

Hugo Bueno is one of those players.
