Rob Edwards is currently leading the way to become the next Wolves manager, and there will be some winners and losers if he arrives.
Edwards has been added to the top of a small shortlist by Wolves, and talks are currently underway to name him as the next Molineux chief.
Jeff Shi admires the Middlesbrough manager due to his past with Luton; however, it is unlikely he would be appointed in time for Saturday’s game against Chelsea.
Instead, caretakers James Collins and Richard Walker will take charge on Saturday as they look for a shock result.
However, with the international break likely when Rob Edwards could be announced, there will be a few players looking over their shoulders for both positive and negative reasons.

Winners
Marshall Munetsi
Marshall Munetsi has often been criticised for his on-ball qualities, but Rob Edwards will no doubt love what he can offer off it.
There were dangers of Munetsi being a loser following Pereira’s sacking, but with what Edwards wants from his players, he may be a big winner.
Speaking about his style of play this season, Edwards said via the Northern Echo, “We want to be aggressive, we want to press hard, run hard, win duels and be competitive.”
That quote perfectly sums up the abilities that Munetsi has. He is a workhorse who is constantly battling in duels and always running.
However, Edwards may expect him to show himself on the ball more often than he currently does, and time will tell if he can improve in that area.
But he will likely be an early favourite due to his work ethic.

Jackson Tchatchoua
At Middlesbrough, right-back Callum Brittain is often found in the attacking areas of the pitch more than in his own half.
That is a sight Tchatchoua will love to see.
The Cameroonian has shown glimpses of the quality he can bring as a touchline fullback and someone who can bomb up and down the pitch, but the true talent has yet to be seen.
The former Hellas Verona man has struggled to start for the Old Gold consistently, but the injuries to Rodrigo Gomes and Matt Doherty also give him a clearer run at proving himself as the number one right-back.
Rob Edwards could truly use the pace and crossing qualities he has to offer, and that is an exciting prospect.
Losers
Tolu Arokodare
Rob Edwards typically only plays with one striker no matter the formation he uses, and that can spell bad news for Tolu Arokodare, certainly in the early days.
It seems likely that the next Wolves’ boss will begin with Jorgen Strand Larsen as their first choice, particularly after how well he performed last season.
Additionally, with AFCON around the corner, the Nigerian will have less time to make an impression.
However, this is not to say that the forward cannot usurp Larsen, but it will be an incredibly difficult task to complete.

Ki-Jana Hoever
In the same way that Jackson Tchatchoua wins, Ki-Jana Hoever loses.
The Dutchman is far from an attacking fullback or wingback, and he has also been a cause for frustration for Wolves fans as of late.
Callum Brittain has been one of the most attacking right-sided defenders in the Championship this season, and when compared to Hoever, it is the Old Gold player who does not stack up across many categories.
| Stat per 90 | Callum Brittain | Ki-Jana Hoever |
| Successful passes | 36.5 | 22.5 |
| Pass accuracy | 81.7% | 68.5% |
| Successful dribbles | 1.03 | 0.71 |
| Touches | 68.9 | 59.3 |
| Chances created | 0.63 | 1.07 |
It has been a tough spell at Molineux for Hoever so far, and while the arrival of a new manager presents an opportunity to impress, we believe he will not be the kind of player Edwards wants.
