Wolves fans have very high hopes for the 2025/26 season.
The 2024/25 campaign has been extremely turbulent, but it looks as though it will end on a high note with Vitor Periera having guided the team away from the relegation zone.
Wolves are now 12 points clear of the drop zone following the 2-1 win over Ipswich Town, and relegation is now all but impossible.
So attention is starting to turn to next term – and there will be alot of changes ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Matheus Cunha is likely to leave, with his £62.5 million release clause already appealing to several clubs.
But Wolves could also lose Nelson Semedo and Pablo Sarabia, with both out of contract this summer.
And exits for those two could open the door for Rodrigo Gomes to shine at Molineux.
Rodrigo Gomes may benefit from Semedo and Sarabia leaving Wolves

Rodrigo Gomes was Wolves’ first signing of the summer 2024 window.
He joined the club for a £12.7 million fee, after a very impressive campaign on loan at Estoril in the Portuguese league.
So far for Wolves, Rodrigo has made 21 appearances, for a total of 897 minutes on the pitch.
Gary O’Neil suggested Rodrigo wasn’t signed to make a big impact in his first season. But Vitor Pereira begged to differ, insisting Rodrigo was a player for now, describing him as ‘fantastic’.
Unfortunately, Rodrigo has struggled with injury recently which has prevented him from playing in the last few weeks. Although, he did return to action against Ipswich on Saturday.
As Wolves fans know, Rodrigo is a very versatile player.
He can play as a wing-back or a winger, which surely points to him gaining more prominence if Semedo and Sarabia both leave.
We’ve seen glimpses of his talent so far this term. But the exits of two experienced players might just help him have a proper breakout in 2025/26, as in theory, there’d be less competition on that side of the pitch.
Wolves could obviously sign players for these positions this summer. But Rodrigo will have been at Wolves for a year and surely stands to naturally increase his involvement.
Pereira must lean on Rodrigo Gomes more in final seven games
With Wolves all but safe now, there will be opportunities for players on the fringes to state their cases for next season.
The likelihood is that Semedo and Sarabia will both being going. According to the Telegraph, the pair are indeed expected to go, so it’s a big next few weeks for Rodrigo, who has looked great on the right side for Wolves.
Pereira will know he could lose these two players, so it’s in his best interests to get Rodrigo involved more.
Ditto Pedro Lima, who is another young player who needs preparing for the Premier League next season.
Quite possibly, Lima at right wing-back and Rodrigo at right wing is the future, so hopefully plenty of chances await both of them in the coming weeks.
