The second half of 2025 has been terrible for Wolves.
The Old Gold are last in the Premier League on Christmas Day, matching a Premier League record in the process, and they have struggled to show any chance of climbing out of the drop zone.
The performances of some players have not been up to scratch this season, and there are quite a few that need to step up their levels.
Here at Molineux News, we have pinpointed three players who must improve because if they do, we could see an upturn in form in the New Year, or they could end up leaving the club.
Two of which only arrived in the summer.

Jorgen Strand Larsen
The Norwegian has not hit the ground running this season and has fallen way short of the heights he hit last campaign.
By this point last year, he had already scored six goals and got two assists. And now, the decision to keep him despite offers around the £60 million mark seems terrible in hindsight.
Larsen has just one goal in 15 Premier League matches.
Will Wolves get £40m for Strand Larsen or is that wishful thinking? 👀
The asking price has been reported amid interest from West Ham…
If the 25-year-old can start consistently firing again, the Molineux club could start to finally pick up wins.
Goals are sorely missing from Wolves right now, and while you can point to a lack of service, Strand Larsen has not helped himself up top either with poor display after poor display.
The forward has been linked with a move away, as Crystal Palace and West Ham are chasing his signature in January, but if he stays, he simply has to do better.
But the first half of the season may tempt Wolves to now cash in, even if Edwards is not concerned about that prospect.

Jackson Tchatchoua
Jackson Tchatchoua came with a lot of promise, and the threat of his pace was supposed to be a new way for Wolves to create and score goals.
However, by Christmas, it is safe to say things have not gone well.
The often lacklustre displays are further highlighted by Wolves reportedly being in for a new right wing-back, which is quite the damning indictment on the Cameroonian.
Wolves fans, which of these positions do Wolves need to strengthen the most urgently? 🤔 Let us know below!
These positions have been reported in a new article by Sky Sports…
There have been glimpses of his quality for the Old Gold, but nothing to write home about yet. In 2026, Tchatchoua needs to step up, or else his time at the club could already be coming to an end.
Especially if that new wing-back is bought.

Jhon Arias
After joining from the Club World Cup, there was a lot of hype for the arrival of Jhon Arias, but at Christmas, it is safe to say he has not lived up to those expectations.
The winger has been constantly linked with a move away in January, and fans believe Arias should be sold.
However, if the 28-year-old does end up staying beyond the winter transfer window, then it is clear that he has to improve.
His performances have not lacked work rate, and it is clear he has been trying, but nothing has come off right for him.
