Three West Brom players Carlos Corberan could sign at Wolves to lead them to Premier League survival

Gary O’Neil is on the verge of the sack at Wolves with West Brom manager Carlos Corberan seen as one of the favourites to take over.

Despite O’Neil remaining in charge of Wolves, the club are on the hunt for potential candidates to take over his reign.

The club are 19th in the Premier League and were humiliated against Everton in a 4-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Graham Potter has been spoken to about taking over Wolves but O’Neil is expected to remain in charge for West Ham

Carlos Corberan is another name that has been linked to Wolves. The West Brom manager currently has the Baggies in the playoff mix despite their recent struggles.

Therefore, Molineux News has highlighted three players who the Spaniard might bring with him to the Old Gold.

Arguably the Baggies’ best player, Josh Maja has continued to perform despite their drop in form.

The striker struggled last season after he moved back to England, as an ankle ligament break kept him on the sidelines for a good portion of the campaign.

However, since he has returned to fitness, he has scored for fun in the Championship.

Going into matchday 19, Maja is the second top scorer in the league after finding the net 10 times.

With the Nigerian still only 25 years old, now could be the perfect time for him to make the leap into the Premier League.

The striker would be an ideal back-up for Jorgen Strand Larsen, especially with Goncalo Guedes’ future at Wolves uncertain

Torbjorn Heggem

Wolves’ defence needs reinforcements as their dire form continues to harm the club’s position.

It has become clear that many of the club’s defenders are not capable of performing at the level needed at the moment which has resulted in the worst defensive record in the Premier League so far.

However, in the Championship, West Brom currently boast the third-best after conceding just 12 goals in 18 games.

Torbjorn Heggem has been central to this success after signing in the summer. The Norwegian international has easily been one of the Baggies’ best players so far this season and could help solidify Wolves’ defence in January.

Tom Fellows

One of the best upcoming players in the Championship is West Brom’s Tom Fellows. The 21-year-old came through the Baggies academy and is now a regular for the club.

So far this season, he has already collected seven assists in 18 appearances.

The 21-year-old is an England Under 21s international proving that there is plenty of potential there to be unlocked.

Fellows can also play in multiple positions whether it is out wide, as an attacking midfielder or as a forward.

With the youngster likely destined for Premier League football, Wolves could make an early move before his talents become more well-known to bigger sides.

However, any move would likely have to wait until the summer as he signed a new long-term deal in late October.
