Three things we learned as Wolves lose to Fulham and gap to safety grows to eight points

Wolves are certainly in big trouble after they lost yet another game in a bottom-of-the-table clash to Fulham.

The gap to safety has grown to eight points, and Fulham thoroughly deserved their win against the Old Gold.

Vitor Pereira can certainly have no complaints about the manner in which his side lost, even if he could be bemused by Emmanuel Agbadou’s controversial sending off.

There were plenty of losers for Wolves, and truthfully, it is hard to find any optimism at the moment.

However, we did learn quite a bit.

Vitor Pereira cannot stay

After another defeat, Fosun and Jeff Shi should be very concerned about the position of Wolves, and Vitor Pereira’s position should be in question.

Heading into the game against Fulham, the reports were that they were fully backing the Portuguese head coach, but he has proved he cannot find the solutions to turn the ship around.

He tried to go bold with his formation, he has tried players in different positions, and he has even dropped some of his better players.

Pereira has run out of ideas, and there does not seem like there is anywhere else for him to turn now. Sam Johnstone even described the performance as ’embarrassing.’

A decision must be made soon.

Andre and Joao Gomes should be guaranteed starters

The decision to bench both Andre and Joao Gomes was completely ridiculous, and Pereira paid the price.

The midfield three, while athletic, could not sustain control or progress the ball up the pitch to create chances for the attackers.

The Brazilian duo should have been some of the first names on the teamsheet, and the Wolves head coach got it desperately wrong.

It is just another one in the long line of bizarre choices he has made this season, and that has ultimately left his future in doubt.

Fans even started ironically chanting the duo’s names after going a goal down.

Wolves will struggle to climb out of bottom three

If any fans have any positivity right now, we would certainly love to hear them out. The position Wolves are in seems far worse than last season, despite the similarities.

There are no players who can inspire a win or produce magic moments of quality like Matheus Cunha once did.

Everything is looking bleak, and relegation seems like the most likely outcome this season.

Things should have been so different after fans took so greatly to Vitor Pereira following the last campaign.
