Three predictions for Newcastle vs Wolves including Ladislav Krejci decision made

Wolves travel to St. James’ Park on Saturday afternoon to take on Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

Both the Old Gold and the Toon are in search of their first win of the Premier League season after disappointing starts.

Newcastle will be the heavy favourites, and Howe’s excellent record against Wolves will serve them well.

Vitor Pereira will be hoping to avoid unwanted history, and that sets this matchup as highly important for both sides.

Here are three things we predict will happen in the game.

Newcastle vs Wolves will have lots of goals

If history is anything to go by then this fixture will feature a lot of goals. The last five meetings between the two sides have had a minimum of three goals scored.

Additionally, the last time Wolves and Newcastle played in a 0-0 draw against each other was back in 1991.

Newcastle have two new forwards in Yoane Wissa and Nick Woltemade, meanwhile Wolves will be hoping to unleash Jorgen Strand Larsen if fit.

The Old Gold also have Tolu Arokodare ready to make his debut after scoring on international duty.

Ladislav Krejci will start for Wolves

Wolves’ defence has not been great this season, and they have been gifting goals through silly mistakes.

Matt Doherty admitted they weren’t following Pereira’s instructions, and that could cause the Portuguese to shuffle things up at the back.

Ladislav Krejci looked calm and composed for Czechia over the break, and Czech fans loved Krejci’s performance for them.

Something needs to change at the back, and the former Girona defender is the most logical player to come in.

The Czech international was part of the Wolves squad against Everton but with the Old Gold chasing the game in the second-half, he never saw the pitch.

Tolu Arokodare will make his debut

Whether Tolu Arokodare starts or not completely depends on the fitness of Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The Norwegian returned from international duty early due to issues with his achilles, and no updates on his fitness have been given since.

Either way, the introduction of Tolu is expected, even if that is from the bench.

Wolves spent £24 million on their new striker and after Tolu impressed with Nigeria on the break, he’ll be eager to make a great first impression.
