Wolves are already planning for the January transfer window as Gary O’Neil aims to strengthen his squad.
It emerged on Wednesday that Wolves are targeting a new centre-back in January but are unlikely to make further additions after signing a defender.
Gary O’Neil’s priority is to bolster his backline with at least one player after the Wanderers were left short in that position during the summer.
O’Neil saw Max Kilman depart to West Ham without a direct replacement while youngster Yerson Mosquera suffered a season-ending injury in September.
Now, with only Toti Gomes, Craig Dawson and Santi Bueno as senior centre-back options, here are three players Wolves could sign in January.

Thomas Beelen
The only centre-back Wolves brought in during the summer window was 18-year-old Bastien Meupiyou, though others were targeted to fill Kilman’s void.
One of the players Wolves contacted was Feyenoord defender Thomas Beelen, who was said to be valued at around £17 million.
Wolves missed out on Beelen as the 23-year-old signed a new contract with the Dutch giants till 2028 in October but, the defensive destroyer could still be targeted in January.
Beelen has played 10 times for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie and made four appearances in the Champions League alongside Hugo Bueno this term.
However, in an attempt to sign the talented defender, perhaps it’s worth testing the waters and submitting an offer in the upcoming transfer window.
Kevin Danso
Kevin Danso is another player Wolves eyed before the season kicked off, and he’s someone they should place back on their radar in January.
The Old Gold have a long-standing interest in Danso, who is currently playing his football at RC Lens in Ligue 1.
The 26-year-old ranks in the top 6% of defenders across Europe for blocks and the top 27% for aerials won, evincing his quality at the back.
Danso has a release clause of £29 million and should Fosun stump up the funds, finally replacing Kilman with the Austrian powerhouse could resolve their defensive woes.
Anel Ahmedhodzic
Last but not least, O’Neil could look to the Championship as inspiration to capture Sheffield United defender Anel Ahmedhodzic in January.
Ahmedhodzic was wanted by Wolves during the summer and the Blades reportedly valued him at £20 million following their relegation.
Since returning to the second tier, the Bosnia international has caught the eye with his outstanding performances at the back, making 13 appearances in the league and keeping an impressive nine clean sheets.
Sheffield United are vying to return straight back to the Premier League and are currently level on points with leaders Sunderland.
Ahmedhodzic was recently linked to Wolves once more and they should act on that interest by landing the 25-year-old.
