Excitement is building ahead of Rob Edwards’ first game managing Wolves.
There has been little for the Old Gold faithful to look forward to this campaign, but the arrival of a new head coach does offer some short-term intrigue as to how Wolves will look.
There is hope at the club that the appointment can lift them out of the relegation zone, but with two points from 11 games, Edwards has it all to do.
Another game without a win hands Rob Edwards an unwanted record, even if the majority of that is not his fault.
The new Molineux boss does have a good history against Crystal Palace, and combined with the overall head-to-head, there may be hope.
Head to head: Wolves and Crystal Palace
Ahead of the match, at Molineux News, we have had our go at predicting three things that will happen against Crystal Palace.
Enso Gonzalez and Mateus Mane get minutes
One thing Vitor Pereira failed to do that we feel the new head coach will do is that Rob Edwards will trust the youth.
Mateus Mane and Enso Gonzalez have been in first-team training and have been given the opportunity to impress the new head coach.
The two starting could be out of the question, but if either of them do, it would be Mateus Mane, with him already seeing the pitch in the Premier League this season.
The winger has expressed his desire for more first-team minutes, with Mane sending Edwards a clear message.
Ahead of the weekend, we are boldly suggesting that at some point, the pair will see minutes against Crystal Palace.

Wolves put in a strong performance and get a result
With the game at Molineux, the buzz around Edwards’ arrival is sure to create a tense atmosphere for the away side.
And the players in the squad will want to cement their place under the tenure of the head coach. The way Edwards wants his players to play should result in a performance to be proud of.
With that in mind, we feel that the Old Gold will actually get something from the game.
However, we are not being quite so bold as to predict a win, but rather that they will definitely get at least one point, with three not entirely out of the question.
The ever-reliable new manager bounce will kick in at the weekend, won’t it? Let’s hope so.

Wolves fans, how do you see Rob Edwards getting on in his first game against Crystal Palace?
Sam Johnstone keeps Wolves in the game
Crystal Palace are third overall for shots on target per match, according to FotMob.
Their average total of 4.5 accurate attempts each game could mean Sam Johnstone is a busy goalkeeper.
If they live up to that expectation, and the quality of Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr comes through, then the Wolves number one will have to produce some good stops to keep them in the match.
Let’s hope it’s a rare instance where the Eagles are not as threatening in the final third as we have become accustomed to seeing.
