Three bold predictions for Wolves vs Burnley, including a Fer Lopez performance to remember

Burnley are set to travel to Molineux to face Wolves, and we have three bold predictions for the Old Gold’s match.

‘Must-win’ is an understatement, as the vibes around the club are reaching an all-time low at the moment.

Some fans are starting to lose patience in their head coach after eight games without a Premier League win.

Vitor Pereira’s job is not safe by any means, and his recent contract will not prevent him from being sacked.

Despite concerns, there is plenty of time to turn things around, but that needs to happen on Sunday against the Clarets.

And getting that big result kicks off our predictions for the match.

Narrow win for Wolves

Putting a Wolves win as a ‘bold’ prediction highlights the situation the Old Gold are in, but we expect them to finally get three points against Burnley.

The Molineux side are the favourites according to Opta, and it is simply a must-win game for Vitor Pereira.

However, we do not expect many goals. In the last ten Premier League meetings, Wolves have not scored more than once against the Clarets.

They may well have to be resilient at the back in this one to get a win, and a narrow 1-0 scoreline is our shout.

Fer Lopez is a standout performer

At Molineux News we have predicted Fer Lopez to start against Burnley, and if he does, we expect him to be one of the best performers on the day.

Wolves are crying out for a creative spark and someone to truly take control of a game, and the Spaniard has all the ability to do that.

His minutes have been few so far, but that has to change. The Old Gold’s struggles in front of goal have been well documented, and somebody has to step up to supply the forwards.

We are predicting this is the time for Fer Lopez to truly arrive for the Wanderers.

Lots of fouls

This game will be cagey, as we have guessed with our previous narrow win prediction, and due to that, both sides may get frustrated.

This frustration will lead to plenty of fouls, and Wolves are actually second in the Premier League for fouls per match (13.5), as per FotMob. Only Fulham have committed more (13.6).

Burnley do not suffer as many and are the fifth lowest on the list (9.9). However, the expected nature of the game will see them shift up to Wolves’ level.
