There is a real fear that Wolves’ Premier League position come January could limit their business in the window.
The prospect of joining a side on their way to becoming one of the worst teams in the history of the Premier League is a hard sell.
And that has also led to reports of current players jumping ship. Emmanuel Agbadou is reportedly open to a move to Besiktas, and after his recent resurgence, that would be a big blow.
Additionally, Fer Lopez has been tipped for a Celta Vigo return on loan.
On the incomings side, it has been a lot quieter, and as January approaches, there are sure to be many players linked with the Old Gold, but interest does not mean they will be easy to sign.
However, while the selling point could be hard to find in a normal year, the World Cup in the summer could be Wolves’ biggest friend.
How should Wolves approach the January window?
Wolves can use World Cup to their advantage in the January window

There will be many players on the market in January who are pushing for a move away from their current clubs due to the World Cup.
Fringe players across England, Europe, and the world will be seeking ways to force their name into their nation’s squad.
Already, we have seen Enso Gonzalez linked away from Wolves for that very reason.
That could open the door for the Wanderers to sign players they might not usually be able to tempt.
The simple allure of promised game time for a Premier League side could be a big negotiating factor for the club in January. More eyes will be on those players when playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world.
Players such as James Trafford have been linked with Wolves, and the out-of-favour Manchester City goalkeeper could leave the Citizens on loan to push for a World Cup place.
James Trafford was absolutely brilliant for Burnley last season, but is he the signing Wolves need in January?⌛
January is an important window for Wolves to save face
Even if you are not the most optimistic about Wolves’ chances of survival right now, the minimum that Rob Edwards and the club should do is give the Old Gold a chance to provide some pride.
If the Wanderers end as the worst team in Premier League history, it would be a devastating record to hold.
Some added quality in the forward areas, an extra midfielder, and perhaps another goalkeeper are all must-buys in January.
Otherwise, Derby fans will be watching gleefully, as it is not clear where the quality to score goals will come from, and thus where Rob Edwards’ side can win games.
