The Wolves Player of the Month for March can surely only be one man

Wolves only played a few games in March due to the international break.

After losing on penalties to Bournemouth in the FA Cup, Vitor Pereira picked up a point against Everton, and then followed that up with a big win over the Premier League’s basement-dwellers Southampton.

Jorgen Strand Larsen was the hero against the Saints with his two goals, and the Norwegian lapped up the praise after the win.

His contributions have put Wolves in a healthy position, and it is now seeing the job through and making that nine-point gap down to the relegation zone even bigger.

And one player who’ll be key in the remaining nine games is Andre – who has surely got to pick up Wolves’ next Player of the Month award.

Wolves are now asking supporters to vote for the Player of the mMonth award for March – and Pereira’s midfield maestro has to be in with a chance of winning what would be his second gong of the season.

In the 1-1 draw with Everton, Andre utterly controlled things for Wolves.

Pereira’s side had 66% possession, and everything went through him at the base of the midfield.

He completed a whopping 73/75 (97%) passes, and touched the 92 times – only the three central defenders touched it more.

Then against Southampton, he was superb on the ball once more, completing 47/51 (92%) passes.

So across those two games, Andre completed 120/126 passes which is remarkable.

And he wasn’t just tidy on the ball. Andre was also tenacious, as indicated by the combined eight tackles he made and 13 defensive actions overall.

After the draw with Everton, one Wolves fan even likened Andre to N’Golo Kante.

Andre actually even set a 2024/25 Premier League record against Everton, wining the ball back a whopping 11 times in the middle third of the pitch. No payer has managed that number in a top-flight match this season.

Andre now one of Wolves’ most important players

There were some other impressive performers for Wolves in the games against Everton and Southampton.

Toti Gomes was rock-solid, as was Emmanuel Agbadou typically. Joao Gomes also impressed in midfielder.

But Andre seems to just keep improving for Wolves and is definitely now one of the Pereira’s most important players.

Dave Edwards believes Andre is one of the best number sixes in the Premier League which really does say it all as to how good he’s been lately.
