Wolves completed the double deadline day swoop of centre-back Nasser Djiga from Red Star Belgrade while Marshall Munetsi joined from Reims.
A largely underwhelming transfer window had a happy ending for Wolves, who managed to bolster two positions in Vitor Pereira’s squad.
Djiga will likely take his place on the right side of defence, slotting in alongside Emmanuel Agbadou and Toti Gomes, with the 22-year-old showcasing his quality in the Champions League this term.
Matt Hobbs even lauded the ‘great potential’ of Djiga, who Pereira hopes will develop into a quality defender at Molineux.
With supporters delighted about Djiga’s arrival, other players could see their game time hindered by the Burkina Faso international.

Two Wolves players winning from Nasser Djiga’s transfer
Emmanuel Agbadou
Since completing his transfer from Reims in January, Agbadou has slotted brilliantly into Pereira’s defence.
Initially starting as a left centre-back in the absence of Toti, Agbadou then switched to the central centre-back role against Aston Villa, with the 27-year-old flourishing.
Wolves’ 2-0 win over Villa saw the Ivory Coast international play a starring role in shutting down Ollie Watkins, and Djiga’s presence in defence will only take him to greater heights.
Agbadou can keep his place centrally, with Djiga perhaps operating on the right side of the defence.
Toti Gomes
Toti was out for over a month before starting in the win against Villa, with it becoming clear that Pereira missed the Portuguese international.
The 25-year-old played in each of the three matches where Pereira’s men have kept a clean sheet, underlining his importance in the left channel.
Toti is arguably one of Wolves’ most important players now, as his role as a ball-playing defender who can drive forward is crucial.
Indeed, Djiga being thrown into the starting lineup alongside Agbadou and Toti looks like a partnership that can help the Wanderers survive.
Two players losing from Nasser Djiga transfer
Santiago Bueno
Santi Bueno dropped to the bench in place of Toti in the win over Villa, despite the Uruguay international starting in the previous 10 matches.
Bueno has been criticised for his lack of physicality, especially when Gary O’Neil was in charge, and attackers can normally have a field day against him in that regard.
So, with Djiga coming into the side expecting to start, the Uruguayan’s chances of featuring regularly have been slashed, as Agbadou is a much better option in the middle.
Matt Doherty
A lack of defensive depth has seen Pereira utilise Matt Doherty as a right centre-back in recent weeks when he’s normally a wing-back.
Doherty has held his own since seeing a tweak to his position, although the signing of Djiga could see him lose his place in the lineup.
The 33-year-old will have to battle Nelson Semedo to start at right wing-back and given how highly-rated the Portuguese international is, the Republic of Ireland star could suffer as a result.
