2025 as a calendar year will be remembered by Wolves fans for all the wrong reasons, but there were at least still some games that left a big impression.
Wolves are in a world of trouble now after a dismal 2025/26 season so far.
Wolves are almost certain to be relegated, having already been cut adrift at the bottom of the Premier League.
The reality is that Fosun’s recruitment strategy has left Wolves with a squad that’s nowhere near good enough, and the price will be paid next year.
Amid this terrible situation, Wolves fans have spent a lot of time reminiscing about the past, and Molineux News now looks back at three of the best games in 2025.
Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa (Molineux, February 2025)
This was Vitor Pereira’s eighth Premier League game in charge of Wolves – and it ended in very satisfactory fashion.
Wolves came into the game on a four-game losing streak, but pulled a fantastic performance out of the bag at Molineux in the West Midlands Derby against Aston Villa.

Wolves fans got to see Jean-Ricner Bellegarde play in a central role, and the star shone, scoring Wolves’ first goal with a fine finish at the near post.
A quadruple substitution by Unai Emery at half-time did little to help Aston Villa – who did dominate the ball – and Wolves sealed the points in the 97th minute through Matheus Cunha, who produced an iconic celebration. Cunha would then sign a new contract straight after the game.
The 2-0 win lifted Wolves out of the bottom three, and was the first of eight victories for Wolves in the second half of the season.
Ipswich Town 1-2 Wolves (Portman Road, April 2025)
Pereira had been building something really good at Wolves, as he took his players to Portman Road on April 5.
In the two games before, Wolves had managed to record big wins over West Ham United and Southampton to take a big step towards safety.
But Ipswich winning had the potential to drag Wolves back into the battle, and there were nerves when Liam Delap gave the Tractor Boys an early lead.

This was a test of Wolves’ character, and the team rose to the occasion thanks in-part to a big performance from substitute Pablo Sarabia.
The Spaniard found an equaliser on 72 minutes, before turning provider for Strand Larsen on 84 minutes.
This victory over a relegation rival was widely regarded by fans as the one that really sealed Wolves’ safety in the Premier League.
This was also the game that saw midfielder Andre take a selfie video with a fan’s phone, and that moment – which went viral – really did just show just how together the players and the Molineux faithful were.

Wolves 4-2 Tottenham Hotspur (Molineux, April 2025)
Wolves were going really well, heading into the very next game with Tottenham.
The Old Gold had won their previous three and also drawn with Everton before that, so team spirit was high – and that led to another great win.
Wolves beat Spurs 4-2 with Rayan Ait-Nouri getting Wolves off to a perfect start, scoring after two minutes.
A Djed Spence own goal had Wolves two to the good, but Mathys Tel pulled one back.

Jorgen Strand Larsen bagged to restore the two-goal cushion, becoming just the second Wolves player to find the net in four consecutive Premier League games after Henri Camara. Richarlison kept Spurs in it though with a scrappy goal in the 85th minute.
But just a moment later, Cunha came off the bench for Wolves to put the game to bed.
This win moved Wolves up to 16th, and 14 clear of relegation.
