There are few better sights in the Premier League than Andre patrolling the midfield for Wolves, as he continues to go from strength to strength at Molineux.
A £21 million capture from Fluminense last summer, Andre – who almost signed for Fulham instead – has already stolen the hearts of supporters.
Andre is one of the Premier League’s best. He anchors the Wolves’ midfield with such ease, manoeuvring out of danger wonderfully and flexing his outrageous passing range.
There’s no wonder Jorgen Strand Larsen has called Andre ‘amazing’, because he simply is a joy to watch, and everyone associated with the club will hope he stays at Molineux for years to come.
Remarkably, his incredible performances at the base of Vitor Pereira’s midfield have already seen him surpass one legend of the club.

Andre is outperforming some of Ruben Neves’ statistics
Wolves fans still adore Ruben Neves and one day hope he returns to the club. The Portuguese maestro made 253 appearances for the Old Gold, including 30 goals and 13 assists during a six-year stint.
Neves also captained Wolves to successive Europa League campaigns and became a legend of the club, synonymous with his long-range thunderbolts and passing range.
However, when comparing his statistics from the 2022/23 Premier League season – his final at the club – Andre outperforms Neves for accurate passes, long balls per game, tackles, and duels won.

Considering the Portugal international is inarguably the greatest player to play for Wolves in the modern era, Andre producing better metrics than him just proves what Dave Edwards is thinking.
Dave Edwards thinks Andre is better than Neves
It’s only a small sample size as it’s comparing Neves’ stats from just one campaign but the signs are there to suggest he’s surpassing his qualities in Wolverhampton.
Dave Edwards has even suggested Andre is better than Neves, telling of the attributes he brings to the midfield, with the Brazilian arguably more agile and energetic.
“I could talk about Andre all day because I just think he is, honestly, one of the best in the league at what he does, and probably the best at what he does Wolves have ever had in that central midfield area,” Edwards said.
“We’ve had some fantastic midfielders in recent years in obviously Joao Gomes now, but Ruben and Joao Moutinho. But for what Andre does, as that holding midfielder, he is elite.”
Wolves fans miss what Neves brought as a leader and his thunderous strikes from outside the box, but in terms of dictating the tempo of a game, Andre is showing that he’s an elite talent.
