Wolves only hired Rob Edwards just over seven games ago, but his future is already being cast into doubt at Molineux.
The Old Gold can break another Premier League record if they lose to Manchester United, as the first team to play half a season without bagging a win.
Vitor Pereira managed two points in the opening 10 games as Wolves boss, but Rob Edwards is yet to secure a win since taking over.
With games against West Ham and Everton coming up, Edwards must start to at least pick up a point; otherwise, the Wolves hierarchy may become impatient.
What do you make of this, Wolves fans?🤔
Winless in seven games under Rob Edwards…
Yes, Wolves don’t have the best of squads, but even Pereira picked up points with the same players.
Especially when you hear reports of Wolves looking to sack Edwards already.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s future is up in the air at West Ham
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s time at West Ham hasn’t gone to plan. The Hammers have played 12 matches with a points per game average of 0.83, which is the worst in his managerial career.
It has now been claimed that West Ham are considering sacking the former Wolves man (TalkSPORT).
What are the chances of a Wolves return?👀
Nuno Espirito Santo sacking is being rumoured at West Ham
It remains to be seen as to whether Nuno will be in charge when Wolves face the Hammers on the third of January, but it could play a big part in his future.
The chances of Nuno Espirito Santo and Wolves reuniting
Whilst there have been no direct links between Wolves and Nuno, there are some rather strange coincidences that have happened or are lining up.
Wolves hired Rui Pedro Silva recently to bolster Edwards’ backroom staff. Silva was a key part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s coaching team at Molineux and was a well-respected figure in the dressing room.
Edwards and Nuno’s jobs are both up in the air right now, potentially opening the door for a return to Wolves at a time when planning for the Championship may come into play.
Nuno brought Wolves up from the Championship and enjoyed some of his best years at Molineux, but there are doubts over whether he would work with Fosun again.
Having managed at Tottenham, West Ham, and over in Saudi Arabia, it also remains to be seen as to whether he would want to drop down a league potentially.
