The transfer window is now officially open, and Wolves have the chance to bring in players if they so wish.

Given the way the season has started, that is certainly something many Wolves fans will hope for.

One big issue has been the scoring of goals, and the loss of Raul Jimenez is definitely stinging.

A host of strikers have been linked with a move to Molineux as potential cover for the Mexican, but there’s one name that hasn’t really been mentioned.

Chelsea star Olivier Giroud seems like he could be the perfect fit for Wolves.

The Frenchman is in a constant battle for minutes with Tammy Abraham and Timo Werner at Stamford Bridge, and is often linked with an exit from the club.

Wolves were actually linked with the player a couple of years ago.

An approach was never made though, but right about now his services would surely come in handy.

Giroud would be a great signing for Wolves

The 2018 World Cup winner is a proven goalscorer in the Premier League having hit 89 in the competition across stints with Arsenal and Chelsea.

There’s a reasonable chance he’d be a very good fit for Wolves, as he shares a lot of similarities with Jimenez and his game.

In a physical sense, the pair are certainly very alike and one wonders if he would be worth a loan enquiry.

One just gets the feeling that Wolves need someone experienced leading the line right now, as Fabio Silva is very much still acclimatising.

Nuno hinted that he may not make any moves this month with his ‘solutions within’ comments post-Brighton, but if there’s any hint £110,000-a-weel star Giroud (Spotrac) is available, then surely he’s worth moving for.
