Report: Former Wolves target Renato Sanches to join PSG on loan before sealing £8.5 million move

Former Wolves target Renato Sanches is set to join Paris Saint-Germain – and the terms of the deal will not go down well with a lot of Wanderers fans.

According to O Jogo, the midfielder is set to leave Lille and join the French giants.

Supposedly, Sanches is going to complete a loan move.

PSG have reportedly negotiated a clause that will see them pay Lille £8.5 million next season for Sanches to become their player permanently.

He is said to be a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, whom the club are actively trying to offload.

It is a development that is bound to frustrate some Wolves.

During the closing stages of the 2021 summer window, Wolves were trying to sign Sanches on loan from Lille.

The story broke on the evening before deadline day, and excitement was through the roof.

But a move didn’t materialise. Sanches had a knee injury at the time, and Wolves walked away from a deal having deemed the issue too prohibitive.

Sanches would stay at Lille for the whole season and make 31 appearances across all competitions.

He’s now set for pastures news, and it is certainly an eye-catching deal if it comes to fruition.

Sanches’ fitness record is far from perfect, but he is a quality midfielder who has traits that not too many others share.

Embarrassment for Wolves as report shares details of Renato Sanches’ move to PSG

Wolves are currently crying out for a box-to-box midfielder.

Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Leander Dendoncker are all great options, but none of them have the ability to carry the ball at pace through the lines.

Sanches is brilliant at that, and would be a fantastic addition.

To see him potentially making a move to the Parc des Princes that will ultimately cost PSG just £8.5 million is a difficult one to accept.
