Vitor Pereira was disappointed with his squad’s performance against Fulham as Wolves conceded two cheap goals.
Molineux was left startled as Fulham scored 58 seconds into the contest and then netted their winner only two minutes into the second half.
Though the Old Gold got a goal back through Joao Gomes to go into the interval level, Wolves lost 2-1 to Fulham, conceding almost immediately after both whistles.
It’s back to the drawing board for Pereira, who will be keeping a close eye on Leicester City and Ipswich Town’s results on match week 27.

Nelson Semedo was poor against Fulham
Several Wolves players rated disappointingly against Fulham, with Jose Sa having a nightmare between the sticks.
Sa was blasted for his role in Fulham’s winner but, the goalkeeper wasn’t the only member of the Wolves squad who flattered to deceive against Marco Silva’s side.
Captain Nelson Semedo is a firm favourite of Pereira’s but, the defender was below par in midweek at Molineux.
Nelson Semedo vs Fulham |
1 assist |
86 touches |
3 key passes |
50% dribbles completed |
41% duels won |
21x possession lost |
1 error leading to goal |
The 31-year-old was influential going forward, recording an assist and generating three key passes but, his attention to defending lacked sufficient detail.
While Semedo contributed in the final third, he also contributed for the opposition with a goal-causing error as he failed to track the run of Ryan Sessegnon.
It was a moment for reflection when it comes to how the right-back prioritises his role in the back five, being a player who needs to find a balance between attacking and defending.
Wolves fullbacks need to find a balance
The topic of conversation unfortunately isn’t alien to Wolves, who have struggled to strike a balance with both of their fullbacks’ game plans.
For example, left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri was slammed for his defending earlier in the season, something that Semedo warranted with his lacklustre display at the back against Fulham.
It’s frustrating as while the duo are integral to how Pereira’s side build play, they’re also a liability in transition, with countless instances this season where both Semedo and Ait-Nouri have lost the ball cheaply or failed to limit the opposition.
Pereira is working with Ait-Nouri defensively and after the Fulham defeat, the Wolves boss might want to spend some time with Semedo too.
