Despite being 2-0 down at half time, Wolves were unlucky not to come away from Anfield with at least a point. The Old Gold suffered a 2-1 defeat against Liverpool but made the Premier League leaders work for their victory.
Luis Diaz opened the scoring after 15 minutes, and Mo Salah doubled the Reds’ lead just before half time. Although the damage was already done, Vitor Pereira will be proud of his side.
The Wolves manager watched on from the Anfield touchline as his side fought back from a two-goal deficit and, following a great goal from Matheus Cunha, came close to taking a point away from Merseyside.
One player will be lucky to wear the famous gold and black colours again, though…

Pablo Sarabia should never play for Wolves again
Pablo Sarabia put in a woeful performance against Liverpool. The 32-year-old looked way off the pace and out of place in the Premier League.
Sarabia was at fault for Diaz’s goal and, as a result, was unsurprisingly hauled off at half time.
Fans on social media wasted no time in calling the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder out. They expressed their discontent with his lacklustre display and demanded he be dropped for the side’s upcoming matches.
Impossible to disagree following what was an awful performance and one that saw the Spaniard lacking in every area of the pitch.
Out of contract at the end of the season, Fosun must not be tempted to offer him a renewed deal because he may present as a cheaper option to a new, younger signing.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde a much better option
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who was unlucky not to start against Liverpool, came on in the Spaniard’s place.
Bellegarde made an almost instant impact and helped forge the gap between midfield and attack. The Frenchman’s contributions included providing Cunha with an assist.
Although no Wolves player will take the headlines after the Old Gold suffered defeat, Bellegarde was one of the side’s best players, and after his goal against Aston Villa, has given Pereira something to think about ahead of Bournemouth.
