Wolverhampton Wanderers have found the scoring of goals difficult this season.

28 in 27 games is not a great return, and only Sheffield United, West Bromwich Albion, Fulham, Newcastle United, Brighton and Burnley have scored fewer.

The loss of Raul Jimenez always threatened to sting, and that has most definitely been the case.

Young Fabio Silva has had to shoulder a fair bit of responsibility as a result, but he is obviously still very raw.

In January, the club went out and signed Willian Jose on loan from Real Sociedad.

The Brazilian is yet to hit the goal trail, and there is now a conversation taking place about which player Nuno should be starting.

Some fans are Team Silva, and others are Team Jose. And others are Team Neither.

Something Nuno may wish to give some thought to is playing both.

Silva and Jose a hidden partnership?

It’s got to be worth a try for Nuno, given there isn’t too much to play for.

Playing both players could work – Jose can bring the physicality and link-up play, and Silva the movement around him.

It would likely mean one of Adama Traore or Pedro Neto dropping to the bench and given the form of the latter, that would have to be the Spaniard.

Perhaps just for one game, Nuno should look to get them starting together to see what it brings.
