Mateus Mane scores first Wolves goal in three bold predictions for West Ham showdown

Eyes will be firmly set on Molineux as Wolves look to start the new year with a positive result against West Ham.

Nuno Espirito Santo returns to Wolverhampton, still with a glowing reputation among supporters.

However, there will be no love lost as fans will prioritise cheering on their side rather than the emotions involving their former manager.

Readers have told Molineux News they are confident of a win, and after impressing against Manchester United, it is clear to see why.

The Red Devils are a much better outfit than this struggling West Ham side, and if the Old Gold can frustrate them, there should be no excuses as to why they cannot do the same on Saturday.

And that encapsulates the core theme of our bold predictions for Wolves’ clash against West Ham.

Mateus Mane has started back-to-back games at two of the hardest grounds in all of the Premier League: Anfield and Old Trafford.

The occasion did not faze the 18-year-old one bit, and in both matches, he was praised by fans for his performances.

Now, he is in line for his first start at Molineux, and he will be chomping at the bit to play in front of the home crowd, especially after Wolves fans have created a new Mateus Mane chant.

With that in mind, the push from supporters will help the forward get on the scoresheet for the very first time in the Premier League.

Molineux will go wild with celebrations, and our next prediction will mean the scenes go off even more!

Wolves finally secure a win

Over the last two games, there has been something different about this Wolves side. They look more assured, more confident, and better going forward.

That is a recipe for things to turn around, and against fellow relegation candidates West Ham, it is a fantastic time for a first win to arrive.

Life has certainly been tough for supporters since August, but 2026 will start with a bang, and fans will finally have something to cheer about.

It will be a terrible return for Nuno Espirito Santo, whose future at West Ham hangs in the balance.

Max Kilman struggles on Molineux return

Nuno Espirito Santo is not the only man making his return to Wolverhampton on Saturday, as former Wolves captain Max Kilman is in line to start for the Hammers.

The defender has not been great for West Ham since joining, with Irons supporters calling Kilman their worst ever signing.

It will not be the return Kilman wants, as we predict him to have a truly torrid time up against Tolu Arokodare or Jorgen Strand Larsen, and perhaps even both.

Additionally, Mateus Mane will run the West Ham defence ragged, and we might even go as bold as saying Kilman gets sent off or scores an own goal.

We can only hope.
