Fer Lopez has been the topic of conversation at Wolves recently, but not for good reasons.
Wolves made Fer Lopez their first summer signing for around £19 million from Celta Vigo.
Supporters weren’t too sure what to expect from a relatively unproven youngster who had only just broken into the Celta Vigo side, but many won’t have predicted what has unfolded at Molineux.
There was real hype when Fer Lopez first signed for Wolves
Vitor Pereira clearly didn’t like what he saw from Lopez, as he gifted him just 117 minutes of Premier League football prior to his sacking.
And he’s yet to appear in a squad under Rob Edwards, further raising suspicions.
This alerted his former club Celta Vigo, who are keen to take him back on loan in the January transfer window to provide him with regular minutes.
A loan move is imminent for Fer Lopez at Wolves
Wolves fans learned this week that Fer Lopez is set to leave the club on loan in January.
As you can expect, Wolves supporters didn’t take kindly to the news about Lopez, with many labelling the decision as ‘shocking’ after only joining in the summer.
This does come as a slight surprise. Especially considering that we have not seen an awful lot of him.
You can’t help but feel that he’s not been given a proper chance to show himself in the Gold shirt, but Rob Edwards must have his reasons behind the scenes.
What do you make of Wolves’ decision to loan out Fer Lopez after his £19m move?😬
Marshall Munetsi predicted big things for Fer Lopez
Marshall Munetsi has had his own struggles at Wolves, but he was one of the first to highlight the potential he saw in Fer Lopez.
He said.
“Fer I think is going to be a special talent.”
The fact that even players at the club who see him train every day are saying just how much of a special talent he is makes the decision to loan out the midfielder even more absurd.
Jhon Arias and Jean Ricner-Bellegarde have hardly set the world alight with their performances this season, yet they continue to be called upon game after game.
Wolves fans have already seen Vitinha go on to achieve big things after failing to judge his potential correctly, and this has all the makings of a similar outcome.
