Now that Jorge Mendes is back on the scene at Wolves, it’s anticipated that the super agent might have some tricks up his sleeve for Vitor Pereira.
Mendes has a list of incredible names represented by his Gestifute agency, including former Wolf Vitinha.
The renowned agent has delivered some of Wolves’ best modern-day players to Molineux and now, could do the same this summer.
After Wolves’ reshuffle in the recruitment department, Mendes is set to have more of an input on Pereira’s squad, just as he did during Nuno Espirito Santo’s reign.
Former Wolves target Ansu Fati set to be on the move this summer
Five Wolves players are on Mendes’ books, with Nelson Semedo, Goncalo Guedes, Matt Doherty, Bastien Meupiyou and Jose Sa represented by the Portuguese businessman.
The number is set to decrease this summer as Semedo and Guedes have uncertain futures, as does Sa, but Mendes could replenish the Wolves squad with other clients.
Most recently, an update on one of the agent’s most interesting clients emerged, as Barcelona director Deco spoke about Ansu Fati’s future.
Deco confirmed that Fati could leave on loan as the 22-year-old not playing is not an option, which could be the reality if he stays at Barcelona.
Interestingly, Fati was linked to Wolves during the summer of 2023 because of Mendes’ input, but a deal never happened as, instead, the Spaniard signed for Brighton.
The winger spent the 2023/24 season on loan at the Amex, but after returning to Barcelona, usual service resumed as his game time was limited.
Wolves were mentioned when Fati eyed a move during the January window, and even though a move is on the cards this summer, the Old Gold might not be an option.
Jorge Mendes surely won’t offer Fati to Wolves
Before tending to his role at Wolves, Mendes will look at what’s best for his clients, with Fati needing to get himself back in form promptly.
It’s been a terrible few years for the 22-year-old following his incredible breakthrough at Barcelona, as injury and a change in the pecking order have all but destroyed his chance of making it at his boyhood club.
Though Mendes could present Wolves with an attractive transfer option in Fati, it’s unclear whether a return to the Premier League would be smart for the Spaniard.

While the dynamic forward wasn’t particularly bad at Brighton, he also didn’t manage to blow people away, which could indicate to Mendes that a different league would be a better way in for his player.
The Premier League is unforgiving, and for a talent like Fati, who needs to build fitness and confidence at a pivotal time, a return to England would be a shock.
That being said, there’s nothing to indicate that Wolves aren’t out of consideration for both Mendes and Fati, but it’s fair to say the transfer would come as a surprise.
