Time has proven that Wolves made the correct decision to hire Vitor Pereira to replace Gary O’Neil.
Wolves had several candidates to replace O’Neil but Pereira wasn’t one of them.
When the time came to identify the former Wolves manager’s replacement, the Portuguese coach was obtained from Al-Shabab.
Pereira enjoyed a record-breaking start to life at Molineux, with a complete turnaround evident as Wolves look to be safe from relegation.

The Premier League table since Vitor Pereira arrived at Wolves
Pereira is loved by Wolves fans, taking the time to spend time with supporters at the pub after victories, something so inessential but a gesture that means so much.
Aside from his passionate and transparent approach away from the pitch, the 56-year-old is making waves on the sidelines, guiding his squad away from the bottom three.
To think that Wolves were five points from safety when Pereira arrived, it’s quite remarkable to review where the Old Gold sit in the table now.
What’s even more impressive is restricting the table to the period from Pereira’s first game to now, where Wolves sit comfortably mid-table.

Since Wolves’ win over Leicester City, Pereira’s first in charge, the Old Gold have picked up 17 points in the Premier League, seeing them sit 13th in the table since the boss’ arrival.
The form table reveals that based on Wolves’ results since Pereira arrived, the Midlands club sit only two points off the top ten and astoundingly only seven points behind the Champions League spots.
What’s even more special about the form table under Pereira is that the manager has had to contend with a host of issues, including being without key players throughout his reign.
Fosun must support Pereira to spark progression
Now that the evidence is there to prove that Pereira was the right hire, Wolves must give back to the manager sufficiently.
The summer transfer window will be crucial to Wolves, with a rebuild required on top of finding adequate replacements for possible departures.
Pereira left Corinthians after realising his goals wouldn’t be met, sending a warning to Fosun regarding the support the Portuguese needs in the summer.
The 2025/26 campaign can be an exciting one for Wolves and most prominently a turning point, with all eyes on how the board back the qualified manager.
