Wolves should seal a transfer move for one of their ‘amazing’ targets as he would be a dream to play with for Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Unlike in previous years, where Wolves have done little to no business or left it extremely late, Fosun has enabled Gary O’Neil to assemble a squad early in this transfer window.
The Wanderers travelled to their pre-season camp in Marbella with three new signings; Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes and Jorgen Strand Larsen, while midfielder Tommy Doyle sealed a permanent transfer in May.
Wolves kick-started their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 victory over Como, and although the performance was blighted by a racist remark aimed at Hwang Hee-Chan, it was still a productive outing.
While they’re away soaking up the sun and training hard ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, O’Neil still has one eye on the transfer market, including a move for a new left-back.
Wolves have shown an interest in Familicao left-back Francisco Moura
Wolves are well stocked in the left-back department with Rayan Ait-Nouri and Hugo Bueno to choose from however, since interest has been shown in the Algerian, the club have looked at other players in that position.
Following the sale of Max Kilman to West Ham, the Old Gold are under no pressure to sell Ait-Nouri, who was arguably O’Neil’s most important player last term, but they could still sign cover for the 23-year-old.

In June, it was reported that Wolves wanted to sign Famalicao left-back Francisco Moura and were one of the ‘main candidates’ to land him.
Reportedly valued at around £8.5 million, Fabrizio Romano reported on Wednesday that the Portuguese side had refused a £4.2 million bid from an unnamed English club, although later outlets claimed that came from Championship side Norwich.
While signing a left-back isn’t a priority for Wolves this summer, there is one key reason why they should land Moura.
Francisco Moura would be a dream for Jorgen Strand Larsen to play with
O’Neil finally got his transfer wish this summer as he landed the striker he was so desperately craving.
Strand Larsen, 24, was signed on an initial loan deal from Celta Vigo that will become permanent for £22.7 million if he plays a minimum number of games for the club.
The Norwegian striker, likened to Erling Haaland due to his size and stature, scored 13 goals in La Liga last term.
Standing at 6 foot 4, Strand Larsen is the target man striker Wolves have needed in their front line, with the Norwegian offering aerial dominance, solid ball control and strength.
With Strand Larsen spearheading their strike force, the talented forward could flourish from crosses being sent into the box and that is where the addition of Moura could come into play.
Dubbed ‘amazing’ by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the 24-year-old made 33 appearances in the Premeira Liga last season and provided four assists but it was his crossing ability that impressed the most.
As highlighted by FBref, the Portuguese wing-back ranked inside the top 6% for crosses, the top 1% for shot-creating actions and the top 1% for key passes.
His quality in wide areas was furthered by an emerging scout report on the player, which showcased how he enjoys pushing high up the pitch and whipping crosses into the box.
At this stage, Ait-Nouri looks as though he’s staying at Molineux but regardless of whether he leaves or not, Moura seems like he’d be a dream for Strand Larsen, as he’s constantly looking to hit the penalty area with ammunition.
