It’s been a slow burner for Wolves at the start of the summer transfer window, but luckily, supporters may not have to wait too long for their next signing.
Fer Lopez remains Vitor Pereira’s only capture of the summer, with the Spaniard signing a five-year contract at Molineux.
Encouragingly, after weeks of low activity, Wolves are closing in on a couple of transfer deals, and one of those could be Fluminense attacker Jhon Arias.
The 27-year-old emerged on Pereira’s radar as a possible replacement for Matheus Cunha after impressing at the Club World Cup, reaching the semi-finals before being knocked out by Chelsea.
Wolves are now preparing an opening bid of £13m for Arias, with Fluminense giving their clearest indication yet on the Colombian’s future.

Fluminense are plotting a move for Marino Hinestroza who could replace Jhon Arias
Arias dreams of playing in Europe this summer, and Wolves are looking to make that a reality by prising him from Andre’s former club.
The diminutive forward has already destroyed Pedro Neto and Ruben Neves for chances created at the Club World Cup, while boasting 13 assists to his name in 2025.
That explains why Fluminense don’t want to sell Arias, but with the attacker setting his sights on a move to England, they surely can’t stand in his way.
Interestingly, it appears the Brazilian giants are already planning for life without him. According to journalist Victor Lessa, Fluminense are plotting a move for striker Marino Hinestroza, who currently plays for Atletico Nacional in the Colombian top division.
After previously capturing Arias from Colombian side Santa Fe in 2021, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if Fluminense were looking to repeat that success, perhaps seeing Hinestroza as a replacement for their star player.
With Wolves fans excited over links to Arias, this news is positive in their hopes of signing one of their top targets.

Where Arias would fit in at Wolves
As a diminutive, strong, pacey and athletic right winger, Arias would perfectly suit Pereira’s high pressing system and would most likely be deployed as a right-sided number 10.

The Portuguese tactician would afford him the license to roam from his position on the right flank, with the above heat map showcasing his ability to cover lots of ground.
Kaka has also praised Arias for being a ‘dangerous’ player, and during his performances at the Club World Cup, he was a defender’s nightmare.
There is no doubt that if Wolves can pull off a sensational swoop for the fleet-footed attacker, he would excel in the Premier League.
