Fer Lopez to save his Wolves career in three bold predictions for Arsenal clash

Wolves’ game against Arsenal is a David vs Goliath situation, and in this case, the Old Gold are David.

This match is billed as the best versus the worst based on the league table, but the Old Gold have managed to pull out wins in this scenario before.

Mikel Arteta could be with a weakened Arsenal squad, with four players racing against time to be declared fit.

The Wolves head coach will certainly hope that is the case, as that will provide an added boost.

With that being said, here are our three bold predictions for Wolves’ trip to the Emirates.

Fer Lopez sparks excitement from fans

The injury to Jean-Ricner Bellegarde offers the chance for Fer Lopez to be given a rare start for Wolves. The Spaniard has failed to break into the team, but now is his best chance.

Lopez was said to be looking for a loan move in January, but the Haitian’s injury surely scuppers those plans.

Wolves fans, should Fer Lopez be given a rare start for Wolves this weekend vs Arsenal? 🤔

He now remains the sole fit number 10, and it would be strange for Rob Edwards to overlook him against Arsenal, especially since he was the man to replace Bellegarde after he went off injured.

We predict this will be the game that Lopez proves fans correct in their calls for him to get more game time, and he will provide some excitement for the away team.

Another goal for Wolves

While Arsenal are known for their incredible defensive record, in the last few games, they have started to concede.

The Old Gold are struggling in front of goal, but after all, these predictions are bold.

Arsenal have conceded six goals in their last five league games, and that is twice as many as they have shipped in the opening ten games.

A win or result may feel out of sight, but a goal to give the travelling pack something to cheer about cannot be too big of an ask.

Surely.

Not as easy for Arsenal as everyone expects

The overwhelming feeling going into this match is that Wolves will be battered by Arsenal.

Paul Merson has predicted at least a 4-0 win, and the former Arsenal legend is not alone in that, with Chris Sutton suggesting the Gunners could score any number of goals.

However, we are predicting it will not be as straightforward as the league table suggests, and Wolves will show some fight.

And Mikel Arteta is expecting the same. Rob Edwards will provide the right team talk needed, and the players will be well up for it.

While it may end in a loss, it will at least be a resilient showing.
