Wolves’ clash with Manchester United wasn’t just a routine loss. It was the night when fans made their feelings known.
The discontent has been growing since the opening day of the season, but it reached boiling point on Monday night as Wolves fans protested Fosun en masse outside Molineux.
Wolves fans on social media had been talking about protesting, and the moment finally came to make their point.
It was a powerful demonstration of just how far many feel the club have fallen in recent seasons, and also a message that something has to give. Most fans will be hoping this pressures Fosun to consider a sale. It has worked before — kind of.

Wolves fans can take encouragement from Everton
The Molineux faithful are by no means the first to whip out the pitchforks against their owners, and they won’t be the last.
Sometimes, it’s nothing more than a story that entertains the football masses, but sometimes fan power really does prevail.
The first stance taken against Everton owner Farhad Moshiri was back in 2022, when the Toffees were languishing near the relegation zone. Fans carried out a number of demonstrations against him and the board over the next two seasons, as Everton continued to suffer deep in the bottom half.
It was no overnight success — Moshiri dug his heels in and wouldn’t relinquish ownership until December of last year through a complex takeover that saw US consortium The Friedkin Group step in.
Moshiri did leave a legacy at the club with the stunning new Hill Dickinson stadium, but any Everton fan will tell you he overstayed his welcome.
Since the change in leadership, the Toffees are on an upward trajectory.

Everton is a rare win for fans vs owners
While it’s promising to know that protests can move the needle and put pressure on ownership, it took Everton fans two years to get their point across.
Other recent examples include Man United’s long campaign against the Glazers. They have sold a minority stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, but they retain the controlling share.
Spurs fans have been up in arms with ENIC amid recent struggles, and while Daniel Levy has left, they remain owners with no plans to sell.
Not the most encouraging track record, but if nothing else, it might alert Fosun to the fact that they are not doing enough at Wolves, if that wasn’t already clear.
This won’t be the last resistance we see to the current owners, especially if the results continue like this. Fans care for a football club more than owners ever can, and hopefully this causes some reflection or change at Wolves.
