Big worry for Rob Edwards as Man United star loves to play against Wolves

Rob Edwards will be preparing his side to face Manchester United with ideas for them to win the game, and within those preparations, he will be looking for ways to limit the Red Devils.

Ruben Amorim has already tipped Edwards off on Man United’s biggest struggle, and the Old Gold head coach may be wise to listen.

It will be a tough test. Both sides’ positions in the Premier League table paint the picture for the game.

Manchester United are battling for European football, while the Wanderers are fighting for their Premier League status.

Unfortunately for Rob Edwards, he does head into the match with Wolves having injury issues, and the suspension of Joao Gomes does not help matters either.

But there could be one way to limit the prowess of the Manchester club in the final third.

Bryan Mbeumo is a player that loves to play against Wolves, as he has had a lot of success against them over the years.

During his time at Brentford, the Cameroonian has played against the Old Gold on six occasions, and he has produced a goal or assist in five of those fixtures.

Mbeumo is now at Manchester United, and he will be hoping to continue to perform against Wolves, and that will leave one of Rob Edwards’ starting players with a key battle.

Hugo Bueno was ruled out against Nottingham Forest due to injury, and at the time of publishing, there has been no update on the status of his health.

Wolves have the tough task of stopping Bryan Mbeumo from inflicting more damage against them. If Hugo Bueno is fit, would you start him over David Moller Wolfe?

STAT: Bryan Mbeumo has scored or assisted in five of his six appearances against Wolves.

If the Spaniard is not fit on Monday, then that would essentially confirm David Moller Wolfe at left wing-back.

The Norwegian must be at the top of his game, with the Manchester United man having six goal contributions (five goals and one assist) across 14 matches this season.

But he will not be alone in his battle.

Toti Gomes must help out David Moller Wolfe

If David Moller Wolfe starts, then his battle against Bryan Mbeumo will be one of the key ones on Monday, but he will also need to provide an attacking threat, which leaves another man up against the right-winger.

It will be a tough balance for the wing-back in terms of bombing forward, as that could mean the Old Gold leave space for the Cameroonian to run into.

However, with the three central defenders, the left-sided centre-back, which is typically Toti Gomes, must be proactive in covering ground if Wolfe is out of position.

The Portuguese centre-back has seen an upturn in form as of late, and the hope will be that he continues that rise against Manchester United.
