Wolves are closing in on the signing of Jhon Arias from Fluminense after recent speculation, and the Colombian should be followed through the door by another key target.
Late on Wednesday night, Wolves agreed a £19 million transfer for Arias after the Brazilian giants previously knocked back multiple bids from the Old Gold.
The powerful winger will undergo his medical at Molineux over the weekend once he plays his final game for Fluminense against Cruzeiro.
Arias dreams of playing in Europe, something he’s closing in on achieving, and Wolves fans are excited about the prospect of him making the switch to Wolverhampton.
The 27-year-old recently caught the eye at the Club World Cup, particularly against Chelsea in the semi-final. And now, the Colombian international is set to become Vitor Pereira’s second signing of the summer transfer window.

Wolves must clinch a transfer for Marc Pubill after Jhon Arias
Arias is seen as a replacement for Matheus Cunha, who completed his switch to Manchester United earlier in the window.

Interestingly, it was said that Arias was willing to take a pay cut to join Wolves, suggesting how keen he is to test himself at the highest level.
Now, once a deal for the attacker is finalised, Pereira will get to work on plugging other areas of his squad, and a new right-back will be on the agenda.
Nelson Semedo is currently training alone in Portugal after his contract expired on June 30, leaving Wolves with just Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima, and the returning Ki-Jana Hoever as options.
Neither of the above are ready to start regularly in the Premier League, which is why Wolves are pushing to sign Marc Pubill from Almeria.
Almeria are open to selling Pubill for £16.5 million, and he must become the Wanderers’ third signing of the summer after Barcelona previously tried to sign the 22-year-old.
That was according to a report from Estadio Deportivo in March, which claimed Barca were close to finalising a deal for the Spaniard.

Pubill can offer something Nelson Semedo can’t
Pubill was part of the Almeria side that clinched promotion back to La Liga in 2024/25, but now, the young right-back could test himself in the Premier League.
Wolves have already signed 6ft 2in Fer Lopez to add more strength and height to their attack, with Pubill capable of offering similar in defence.
The former Levante star stands at 6ft 3ins, and although that could limit his agility on the ball, he will add defensive stability down the right and an aerial threat in both boxes, something Semedo wasn’t able to provide.
Not only that, but the man who starred at the Euro under-21 Championships for Spain also won four penalties for Almeria last term and created four big chances.
Wolves didn’t win a single spot kick in 2024/25, though the height of Pubill driving into the box will surely improve their chances of altering that statistic.
