Bruno Lage will have been racking his brains over the international break as to what team he should field against West Ham United.
It’s a huge game on Saturday, with Wolves having won just once in the Premier League so far this season.
With a tough game against Chelsea to follow, three points at the London Stadium would be most ideal.
The Hammers have also had a bad start to the new season, and are one place and two points below Wanderers in 18th.
It’s going to be very interesting to see who’ll be starting on Saturday – especially up top.
Wolves have really struggled in the final third once again, and Lage must quickly find a solution.
It has been reported that Diego Costa could make his debut against the Irons. Whether he starts the game or not is another thing.
But one man that Lage should not think twice about starting is Adama Traore.
Traore hasn’t started yet this season in the Premier League.
The manager has preferred the likes of Pedro Neto, Daniel Podence and new signing Goncalo Guedes in the wide areas thus far.
He’s played just 53 minutes in the competition so far – that’s the lowest amount of all the Wolves forwards except youngster Chem Campbell.
It is surely now time for Lage to try something different.
Adama Traore must start against West Ham – he’s wreaked havoc on them before
Having featured so little so far this season, Traore should be nice and fresh this weekend.
It might make sense to give him a start against a West Ham, who have had a number of players on international duty.
Traore has shown what he can do against West Ham in the past.
The last time he started against the Hammers was in May 2021, and he made one of the assists of that season with his run and cross for Leander Dendoncker to head in.
The star skipped away from three players, taking the ball from deep inside his own half all the way to the byline before finding Dendoncker in the box with his left foot.
Neto is not in good form and neither is Hwang Hee-chan.
It is therefore the perfect moment to get Traore in from the start.
