Xavi explains how Adama Traore has surprised him so far at Barcelona

Xavi has told of his surprise about Adama Traore’s decision-making at Barcelona so far since making a loan move from Wolves.

The winger has got off to a great start at the Nou Camp, making some important contributions.

Traore has already made four assists in five games for the club.

He has helped Barca move up to fifth in the table, and the Catalan giants are now just three points off the top four, and have a couple of games in hand on the team above them Atletico Madrid.

Things are really working out over there so far for Traore.

And the 26-year-old has drawn praise from his manager Xavi, who has noted how good his decision-making has been thus far.

He said (via AS): “Adama has surprised me in his decision-making, he has matured.”

One of the biggest criticisms of Traore during his time at Molineux was over his end product.

Often he would do incredible work to get into a dangerous position, but he would get the final ball or the finish wrong.

He has frustrated supporters with his ability to be so good and so poor all in one action.

Without question, Traore improving his end product and adding goals and assists regularly would see him become one of the world’s top players.

It’s certainly been a very promising start to his second spell with the club, and it is slightly uncomfortable viewing for Wolves fans to see this level of form so far.

Xavi suggests what many Wolves fans have been dreading about Adama Traore

These comments from Xavi will be difficult to stomach for some Wolves supporters.

Traore’s decision-making has been the one thing really holding him back in his career so far.

We have seen him choose the wrong option many times, which has been really frustrating.

But it seems that end product is already starting to improve, and it is just a shame it is happening somewhere that isn’t Molineux.

The fact Traore has not signed a contract extension with Wolves would suggest he’s ready to leave. But that won’t make it any easier for some to watch him thriving with Barca.
