Wolves’ £50k-a-week ‘electric’ star now ‘expecting’ departure in 2024

Wolves will be braced for the potential departure of Pedro Neto in 2024 as rumours on his future begin to swirl amid growing interest.

Pedro Neto has been the man in fire for Wolves this season, racking up an incredible eight assists and a goal in all competitions. This impressive tally comes despite missing two months through injury.

But he’s now returned and looked ‘very sharp’ in doing so according to Max Kilman.

In the FA Cup continued where he’d left off last year, assisting Tommy Doyle’s equaliser. His importance for Wolves is about to multiply in the next few weeks as he’s expected to minimise the effect caused by Hwang Hee-Chan’s Asian Cup exit.

However, it’s now been suggested that the Portuguese forward could already have his eyes firmly set on a summer move.

Pedro Neto expects to leave Wolves

The ‘electric‘ Wolves ace has been tipped as having attracted several admiring clubs this campaign already and now Sky Sports’ Johnny Phillips has dropped an update on his future, tweeting on X.

“[Pedro] Neto is expecting [the] chance to leave at [the] end of [the] season, Mendes lining up options”.

The £50k-a-week winger seems to have already made his mind up and with such high-profile interest, he can hardly be blamed as he sees himself as the next big Wolves sale.

That being said – Wolves won’t be under any pressure to sell due to Neto still having a long contract at the club. It was reported yesterday that they’d demand a substantial fee to consider selling their star man.

Should Wolves sell Neto?

This is a difficult one, given the fact he’s clearly such a brilliant footballer and Wolves fans love him. However, in his two-month absence, the Molineux side were still brilliant as showed to be more than a one-man team.

In the summer, if a big bid does arrive it could do Wolves well to allow his exit with the cash brought in possibly being huge in signing other targets.

It would possibly ease the current financial concerns around the club and let Wolves take advantage of the high interest in a player who is quite injury-prone.
