Wolves youngster Nigel Lonwijk has just netted a ‘phenomenal’ overhead kick while on loan to Wycombe.
Wolves have sent multiple players out on loan this season. Daniel Podence is the most well-known name, with the Portuguese winger playing very well for Greek side Olympiacos.
In England, there are plenty of youngsters out looking to get match experience. Luke Cundle is out on loan to Stoke after a good half-season at Plymouth. However one of the lesser known players is Lonwijk.
The Dutch defender joined the Wolves Under 18s side in 2020 from PSV. From here, he has experienced multiple loan spells away from the club, playing for Grasshopper at the start of the season.
An injury soon cut this short. However, last month he was sent out on loan again to League One side Wycombe.
The 21-year-old has since become a fan favourite and scored an absolute sensational goal against Reading in a local derby.
One of the best goals you’ll see from Nigel Lonwijk

In a local derby for Wycombe, a lot is on the line when they play Reading. However, few would have expected that Lonwijk was able to produce.
As the ball was loose inside the box, the defender took the opportunity to strike the ball with a sensational overhead kick to put the visitors in front.
It was a finish any player would have been proud of let alone a defender. The Dutchman then helped Wycombe see out the victory as they secured a 2-1 win.
After the game, Lonwijk said: “The ball went up and I didn’t think I just did it and luckily it went in.
“I was a striker when I was younger but I haven’t done that in a while, it was just a feeling when it happened.
“It was the only thing I could do, so I thought I would try it and if it goes in, it goes in and it did.”
Wolves youngsters continue to impress

While the first team is clearly having a good season, Wolves’ youngsters are also enjoying themselves this season.
Lonwijk is just one player who is having a good campaign. Chiquinho is another who has shone on loan to Portuguese side F.C. Famalicão. The winger also netted a sensational overhead kick in the Portuguese league earlier this year.
On top of this, you have plenty of Wolves youngsters who have made appearances under Gary O’Neil this season.
Nathan Fraser is the most prominent name and was handed his full Premier League debut in the 2-1 victory over Fulham at Molineux.
It is clear that the future is bright at Wolves and as long as players such as Lonwijk keep performing, they will soon get their shot in the starting XI.
