Wolves take on Brentford on Saturday afternoon as they continue their search for a first Premier League win.
When the Old Gold fell to defeat against Arsenal, it was not only the dramatic fashion that hurt, but it also handed the club two unwanted records.
It has been over eight months since the Wanderers faithful saw their side pick up three points in a Premier League game, and with the performance against Arsenal offering hope, it makes a win vs Brentford seem feasible.
And now the Premier League have made their official referee appointments for the game, and Wolves will have few complaints.

Matthew Donohue has never officiated a Wolves game before

Wolves have a history of poor and controversial decisions going against them, but on Saturday, those fears may be alleviated.
Referee Matthew Donohue has been appointed as referee for Wolves vs Brentford, with the official never taking charge of a Wolves fixture before.
That will certainly remove any preconceived thoughts from supporters heading into the match. However, that does not mean there will be zero concerns.
Can Wolves finally win a Premier League game this weekend?
The Bees have the recent advantage…
In fact, this will be just his third game refereeing in the Premier League, and that inexperience could provide another worry.
But Wolves will be hoping the game can be won by the players and not influenced too much by the officials.
Additionally, Edwards will be without Emmanuel Agbadou, and he has plenty of solutions for the Ivorian’s absence.

Brentford will also be happy with the referee appointment
Donohue, however, has officiated one Brentford game before, and that game contained two controversial decisions that went this weekend’s opponent’s way back in May 2024.
Dominic Solanke had two goals ruled out for offside, one for a handball against the forward, and another for a foul being whistled before the then-Bournemouth striker scored.
At the time, Dermot Gallagher felt the first one was not handball but also said the referee did not stop a goal in the second incident.
Hopefully the decisions do not go Brentford’s way this weekend, as Wolves are only back off a wrong decision affecting them.
Bukayo Saka being in an offside position directly led to Arsenal scoring, and the PGMOL’s reasoning does not offer much solace.
