Vitor Pereira was announced as the new Wolves manager on Thursday afternoon and work will begin to keep his side in the Premier League.
Following the sacking of Gary O’Neil, Pereira has signed an 18-month contract at Wolves after leaving his role at Al Shabab.
Pereira has already taken a training session and Wolves fans liked what they saw, with the 56-year-old no doubt focusing his efforts in defence as the Old Gold have conceded 40 goals this term.
Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

The Portuguese boss will be instilling organisation on the training ground while also working closely with Matt Hobbs to bring in some recruits.
Indeed, Wolves want to sign two defenders in January and now, there is a great idea of who one of them could be.

Vitor Pereira eyeing January transfer for Kevin Danso
While Wolves have targeted Ben Godfrey recently, the Old Gold have also been long-term admirers of Lens centre-back Kevin Danso.
Wolves tried to sign Danso in 2023 however, a move broke down for the Austrian because he was focused on playing Champions League football after finishing in second place with Lens.
Danso, who has been lauded as ‘imposing’ for his dominance defensively against Arsenal, has now returned to the Premier League sides’ radar ahead of January.
According to French publication L’Equipe, Lens sporting director Diego Lopez has been given the mandate to balance the books and lower the wage bill by the owner Joseph Oughourlian.
As a result, no player is considered nontransferable and that includes Danso, who could leave next month if they receive an appealing proposal.
Wolves are joined in their interest of the 26-year-old alongside relegation rivals Southampton and European giants Villarreal.

Kevin Danso’s Lens statistics
Danso starred for Austria at Euro 2024, and the centre-back offers attributes that are much-needed at Molineux.
The defensive titan is strong, powerful, quick on the ground and solid in the air. Indeed, his presence would significantly improve Pereira’s back line and the statistics prove that.
In the past year, the Ligue 1 star has more than stood his ground against some of the best defenders across Europe and according to FBref, he’s statistically similar to former captain Max Kilman.
Kevin Danso’s Lens per 90 statistics (past year) | Statistic |
Interceptions | 1.18 |
Blocks | 1.92 |
Clearances | 4.43 |
Aerials won | 2.71 |
Progressive passes | 4.16 |
Danso, who has eclipsed 200 appearances across his career, would be an astute January addition who would slot seamlessly into the defence.
