It will be a surprise to no Wolves fans that few players received a positive rating after the game.

Sa was the worst-rated player, earning a 2/10 after two penalty errors and four goals conceded.

Sam Johnstone may be given the nod in goal vs Everton in the week after the Portuguese ‘keeper produced a shocking performance.

In contrast, Larsen was easily Wolves’ best player as he netted a brace with two excellent finishes. The striker was awarded an 8/10 for his efforts and did not deserve to be on the losing side.

O’Neil was frustrated with the performance after full-time as the club slipped to their first defeat in five games.

Wolves had looked brilliant against Fulham last weekend but despite keeping the same team, the squad looked a shadow of their former selves.

One of the main questions O’Neil was asked at full-time was why he elected not to bring Craig Dawson or Santiago Bueno back into the starting XI.

However, the manager confirmed that the latter wasn’t ready to start and it was also ‘difficult’ to change a winning team.

While the game was important for Wolves’ survival, it was also renewed the meeting between O’Neil and his former club.

The Wolves manager guided Bournemouth to safety in the 2021/22 campaign before being sacked in the summer.

Since then, he has been at Wolves and oversaw a victory against the Cherries last season.

However, the Bournemouth fans were more than happy to inflict another defeat on O’Neil as they could be heard mocking the manager at 4-2.

As a result of the loss, Wolves are once again in the relegation zone. After so much optimism going into the match, the Molineux faithful was brought back into reality with an awful display.

Concern now grows that O’Neil cannot guide the club to safety with their defensive issues showing no signs of improvement.

Therefore, many Wolves fans are now calling for O’Neil to be sacked believing his position has become untenable.

Fans branded the performance as ‘shambolic’ with another comparing the manager to Dean Saunders and his failed stint at the club.
