Wolves’ dreadful start to the 2025/26 season has resulted in three players making WhoScored’s lowest rated XI so far.
On Saturday, Rob Edwards will take his first game as manager of Wolves, and look to try and get the club out of the royal mess they are currently in.
His predecessor Vitor Pereira left Wolves in an awful spot, rock bottom of the table with just two points. Wolves have also scored the fewest goals and conceded the most.
Of course, the problems at Wolves run much deeper than the Portuguese, who was sacked at the start of the month.
Fosun are more unpopular with fans than they’ve ever been, and a harsher spotlight has been shone on the owners in recent weeks, with more and more people becoming aware of their failings as owners.
Thanks to them, Pereira and Domenico Teti, it has been an abysmal start to the new season and it is perhaps no surprise that three players have now been named in the lowest rated XI so far.
Wolves trio feature in lowest rated Premier League XI so far

A couple of days ago, WhoScored released an XI composed of the lowest ranked players in the Premier League from their database.
First and foremost, WhoScored’s average ratings can be defined as being ‘based on a unique, comprehensive statistical algorithm, calculated live during games’. They also say there are over 200 raw statistics included in the calculation of a player or team’s rating.
With that said, by their calculations three players from Wolves are among the worst performers in the Premier League so far.
Goalkeeper Jose Sa has the lowest average rating of any player with just 5.76.
Tolu Arokodare, who joined Wolves in the summer for £24 million from Genk, is the lowest rated outfield player with 5.98.
And Toti Gomes, Wolves’ club captain, also makes it into the team with a rating of 6.08.
There is also an inclusion for former Wolves winger Adama Traore, who’s managed an average rating of just 6.12 with Fulham.
Jose Sa, Toti Gomes and Tolu Arokodare must all fix up for Wolves
To have three representatives in this team is not ideal for Wolves.
Undoubtedly, Sa and Toti have both had very disappointing campaigns, with both players losing their starting berths in the final weeks of Pereira’s reign.
Their replacements, Sam Johnstone and Ladislav Krejci, will make it hard for them to get back into the team so their ratings could stay low for a while.

With Arokodare – who was surprisingly linked with Fenerbahce this week – there can be a bit of sympathy.
Pereira wasn’t handing him many minutes and, as a striker, it’s difficult to make an impact when you aren’t playing regularly.
We have seen glimpses in the Carabao Cup of what the Nigerian can do, and hopefully under Rob Edwards the striker will improve in a Wolves shirt and have more involvement in the Premier League.
