Wolves are reported to be interested in signing Cadiz defender Momo Mbaye.
According to Senegalese outlet wiwsport.com, Mbaye is attracting attention after making his debut in La Liga this season.
The star, 24, has actually only made three appearances so far.
But despite his lack of minutes, he has seemingly impressed. As well as Wolves, there is also interest from Brighton, Southampton, Leeds United.
These four Premier League clubs could all move for Mbaye in January.
He is actually injured at the moment, having gone off after just half an hour on his third appearance against Atletico Madrid recently. He’s set to be out for a few weeks.
But due to the World Cup, he’ll likely only miss Cadiz’s game against Real Union in the Copa del Rey this Sunday.
Wanderers are currently short in terms of centre-back options.
There’s a smaller pool now following the change to a back four, with Nathan Collins, Maximilian Kilman, Toti Gomes and Yerson Mosquera vying for minutes.
Wolves tried to sign Craig Dawson on deadline day in the summer, but West Ham United blocked the move.
There were also reports of interest in free agent Jason Denayer following the closure of the window. But he has since join Shabab Al-Ahli.
Wolves transfer links to Momo Mbaye are a surprise
It is very interesting to be reading claims of interest in Mbaye from Wolves.
The Senegal youth international is something of a late bloomer.
The fact he’s only made two full appearances for Cadiz so far this season but seemingly still has all this interest must mean he’s a potential hidden gem.
Information on Mbaye is quite thin on the ground, but he has apparently often impressed for the club’s B team, whom he has made 32 appearances for.
