Wolves told Jhon Arias has a trait that’s not been seen at Molineux since Pedro Neto

A lot of negativity has circulated around Wolves during this summer, although one positive was the signing of Jhon Arias from Fluminense.

Arias was captured for £19 million from the Brazilian giants, with Wolves officially unveiling him as their second signing of the summer on Thursday.

Remarkably, Arias snubbed a mega-money move to Saudi Arabia in favour of a switch to Wolves, as the 27-year-old has always dreamt of playing in the Premier League.

Supporters are therefore excited to see if he can replace Matheus Cunha’s incredible output and become the latest hero at Molineux.

Arias has already been dubbed ‘amazing’ by Yerson Mosquera, and the Colombian winger will bring a trait to the club that they’ve missed since Pedro Neto left.

Steve Bull says Jhon Arias can replace Pedro Neto’s pace

Wolves have always been known as one of the best counter-attacking teams in the division. The likes of Adama Traore and Neto have graced the Premier League with their electric pace and power in transition.

Neto was sold by Wolves to Chelsea for £54 million in 2024 after consistently destroying defences during his time in Wolverhampton.

The 25-year-old possessed frightening speed that arguably hasn’t been replaced since his departure until now, with legend Steve Bull suggesting Arias can bring a similar level of threat in attack.

“Some quality has left the squad and we needed to bring in some replacements and from what I’ve seen of Arias, he’s quick and dangerous,” Bull wrote in his E&S column.

“We’ve missed that pace in the side since Pedro Neto left, and fingers crossed he can bring something different to the team.”

Arias has every tool in his locker to become a success in the Premier League, with pace being one attribute supporters are excited to watch.

Arias outperformed Neto at the Club World Cup

Several superstars emerged at the 2025 Club World Cup and Arias used the tournament as a chance to accelerate his move to Europe.

As Fluminense reached the semi-finals before losing to eventual winners Chelsea, the Colombian winger played a major role and was praised heavily for his performances.

Indeed, Arias outperformed Neto and Ruben Neves for chances created in the competition, which highlighted his ability to produce quality in the final third.

Enzo Fernandez was also blown away by Arias during the semi-final clash, and now, he will come against the Argentine next season.
