Wolves told biggest benefit of signing Emmanuel Agbadou from a man who knows him very well

Despite spending the entire season in the bottom half, Wolves are looking to finish the campaign strongly.

Appointed at the end of last year, Vitor Pereira has turned the side’s fortunes around.

After taking 16 points from a possible 18 in their last six games, Wolves are one of Europe’s most in-form teams, and huge credit must go to two mid-season signings.

Will Still praises Emmanuel Agbadou and Marshall Munetsi

Although Wolves were the second-highest spenders in January, their recruitment decisions have paid off.

Even though Nasser Djiga has barely featured, Emmanuel Agbadou and Marshall Munetsi, who both arrived from Stade Reims, have been transformative, especially the former, whose arrival has shored up the defence.

And explaining just how impactful Agbadou has been, former Stade Reims manager Will Still, who managed the French side from October 2022 to May 2024, and appeared on this week’s Monday Night Football, believes the centre-back’s confidence on the ball, combined with his pace and strength, allows the rest of the team to ‘take more risks’.

Still added that Munetsi is also a solid addition, with the midfielder’s best attribute being his ability to make well-timed runs into the box from deep.

Solid recruitment paying off

Although Wolves’ recruitment hasn’t always been the best, credit must go to Matt Hobbs for his more recent work, especially his decision to bring in Agbadou and Munetsi.

The pair have been solid in their respective roles with Agbadou’s impact clear for all to see; Wolves supporter or not.

Munetsi’s work rate cannot be questioned, even though he isn’t getting among the goals as much as some would like.

The pair have been great acquisitions; perhaps two of the best January signings in Wolves’ history, and that bodes well ahead of an important summer transfer window.
