Wolves tight-lipped on Vitor Pereira’s future as Liam Keen shares update

It’s sure to be a long week for Vitor Pereira as speculation around his future grows. Next weekend’s clash with Burnley is a must-win, something Pereira himself has acknowledged

The new contract the Wolves boss signed was a show of faith, but the logistics of termination remain the same, so he won’t be relaxing.

As for what Wolves are thinking after another difficult defeat, Liam Keen has shared what he knows.

Wolves ownership haven’t changed their stance

In the relative quiet of the international break, one of the main talking points was the importance of Wolves’ ties with Sunderland and Burnley.

Well, the result against Sunderland was a let-down, but it was the poor performance that stung the most.

That was enough for some fans to write off Pereira, while others are waiting for Burnley before jumping ship.

As for the ownership, they have said nothing to suggest their stance has changed. As Liam Keen reports on the E&S Wolves Podcast, Wolves are remaining tight-lipped.

He says: “I’ll be brutally honest with the listeners and say that it’s been pretty much radio silence from the club in terms of, you know, the questions that are asked in terms of Vitor’s future.

“Going into into Burnley, going into future games, exactly where wolves are in terms of thinking about removing him and bringing someone else in and whether it’s hinges on this game coming up.
It’s essentially radio silence.”

The way these two fixtures were paired, there was never going to be a decision like that in the middle. Maybe if Wolves were beat 5-0, who knows. But no.

Vitor Pereira needs players to show up vs Burnley

When Burnley come to Molineux, there won’t be any more room for excuses.

To lose at home to a promoted side out of form would be devastating, and probably detrimental to Pereira’s chances of keeping his job.

The players need to know they’re fighting for his survival. No slow starts, no lapses in judgment.

If it’s another bad performance, it could be curtains for the Wolves boss.
