Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen makes fresh injury admission while on Norway duty

Wolves fans are yet to see the best of Jorgen Strand Larsen this season.

The number nine enjoyed a fine first campaign in old gold, scoring 14 Premier League goals for Wolves – none of which were penalties.

But he hasn’t really got going in the 2025/26 season up to now, with several factors preventing him from reaching his best level.

The main reason is that Strand Larsen has been contending with an Achilles injury, which forced him to miss two Premier League games against Everton and Newcastle United.

Strand Larsen also received a late approach from Newcastle in the summer transfer window, which may or may not have affected his performances.

That said, in Strand Larsen’s defence, he behaved very professionally during that situation.

But the injury has been the main thing for Jorgen Strand Larsen this season, and the striker gave an update on his current predicament ahead of Norway’s game tonight.

Strand Larsen not being fully fit right now is far from ideal for Wolves.

Vitor Pereira needs his number nine fit and firing, with Wanderers having struggled so far this season.

Pereira recently reiterated that Strand Larsen was still struggling with his Achilles.

And now, the Wolves man has spoken about the nature of his injury, and revealed that he has ‘struggled a lot’ and has even been impacted psychologically. He said: “Of course, it’s a bit boring to feel like you can’t get started.

“It’s rare that I bother to complain about other things. But I’ve struggled a lot with injuries. Being in the middle of a situation like that is not easy.

“It’s not easy to go into a game and always have something in the back of your mind. But the goals are coming.”

Strand Larsen finding form will be a game-changer for Wolves

At the moment, Wolves are toothless up top and that needs to change as quickly as possible.

Strand Larsen has drawn some criticism for his performances, but he clearly isn’t his usual self and he made that clear at his latest press conference.

In an ideal world he’ll shake off the injury as quickly as possible.

Strand Larsen is absolutely vital for Wolves now that Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Pablo Sarabia have all left.

He’s the main source of goals for Wolves and it is paramount that he starts firing.
