Wolves defender Yerson Mosquera will likely not play against his season after sustaining a serious knee injury.
Wolves confirmed last night that the defender has suffered MCL and ACL damage, leaving fans absolutely gutted.
Mosquera had to be stretchered off against Aston Villa after he went down under a challenge from Morgan Rogers.
It is perhaps the worst possible news for Wolves.
Mosquera had been one of Wolves’ best players across the first five Premier League games, and his injury now leaves Wolves very short at centre-back.
It is a huge blow for Mosquera himself, after he sustained a serious hamstring injury shortly after joining the club in 2021.
Yerson Mosquera sends message after Wolves drop injury bombshell

Mosquera now faces a long road to recovery.
It is truly awful for him after he suffered that hamstring injury shortly after joining the club, which completely altered his pathway at Molineux.
When Mosquera has played, he has looked like a player with serious potential. But it will now be some time before Wolves fans see him again.
Not only is Mosquera a great player with huge potential, he is also a top character and a hugely popular figure in the dressing room.
The easy-going, fun-loving South American is adored by his teammates, and some of them sent messages to him last night on Instagram after Wolves’ announcement.

Mosquera took to his Instagram Story to check in with fans, sharing Wolves’ update on him and writing: “I’ll be back soon Wolves.”
Hugo Bueno: ‘You’ll come back stronger Panita, we’re with you @yersonmosquera_15 ❤️’
Jorgen Strand Larsen: ‘🥹❤️’
Mario Lemina: ‘🙏❤️’
Mosquera in good company
Wolves fans have seen a number of players fall victim to serious knee injuries in recent years at Molineux.
Jonny Castro Otto suffered two during his time at the club.
Chiquinho also had one in 2022 and more recently Sasa Kalajdzic and Enso Gonzalez have both sustained bad knee injuries.
Kalajzdic will likely have a lot of advice for Mosquera during his road to recovery, as the Austrian striker’s latest injury was the third of his career.
It is a crying shame what has happened, but hopefully everything will now go well with Mosquera’s recovery and Wolves fans get to see him as soon as possible.
