Wolves stars react after brilliant 2-1 win over Brentford

Wolves are just four points off the top four, after beating Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League yesterday.

Wanderers continued their fantastic recent form by taking all three points at the Brentford Community Stadium at the end of a bizarre game.

The game was halted towards the end of the first-half after a drone was spotted flying above the stadium.

Then, referee Peter Bankes’ communication technology wasn’t working which delayed the start of the second-half.

Toti Gomes was shown a red card, before the decision was eventually overturned, and there was also a scuffle involving Jose Sa, Ivan Toney and Kris Ajer.

Adama Traore thought he’d put the game completely to bed in injury-time. But VAR ruled his goal out for offside.

In total, there were more than 25 minutes of added time in the game.

It was bizarre, chaotic and disjointed, but Wolves found a way to win, with Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves on target for the visitors.

After the latest win over Brentford, a number of Wolves players took to social media.

The likes of Max Kilman, Adama Traore and Fabio Silva were delighted with the result.

The result means Wolves maintain their 100% winning start to 2022.

Given Wolves are now done for the month, there is a very reasonable chance that Bruno Lage could scoop his first Premier League Manager of Month award. He, at the very least, deserves to be on the shortlist.

Wolves starting to get results while looking the part

Fans ought to be very pleased with how the team is looking now under Lage.

There have been some tough moments earlier in the season. Some questioned whether the decision to bring him in was the right call.

But Lage is doing a great job, and Wolves have now hit the goal trail which is really encouraging given how solid the team is at the back.

From the scenes at full-time, it is clear there is a fantastic harmony about the squad at the moment.

The will potentially count for a lot as Wolves attempt to push for Europe.
