New signing Jhon Arias has been a bright spot in an underwhelming pre-season for Wolves.
The Colombian got his first goal in gold last Sunday, as Wolves fell to a 2-1 defeat against Girona. Jhon Arias lived up to the hype, despite a poor team performance.
Arriving at Molineux for an initial £15 million fee, the 27-year-old already looks settled in with his new club.
And one new teammate of his sees Arias’ quality and potential value to the side.
Yerson Mosquera vouches for Jhon Arias to start
While being interviewed for the Wolves official website, Yerson Mosquera discussed his injury, thoughts about the upcoming season, and gave his verdict on Arias.
He said: “It’s amazing. I’m very excited to have one big player like him with us, and it’s really good to enjoy him, because he’s really good.
“He will help us a lot and we need to protect him, we need to put him in the group and after you will see the result.”

It seems Mosquera is convinced by his fellow countryman already, and he thinks Vitor Pereira should put him out there from the start. Given the lack of attacking options at Wolves presently, the sooner Arias can settle in the better.
Jhon Arias can play Matheus Cunha role for Vitor Pereira
Replacing Matheus Cunha is an impossible task, but it’s what lies before Pereira going into this season. Already, Arias is showing his attacking quality, and he will want the challenge of filling such a vital role.
Cunha’s blend of playmaking and clinical scoring is rare to find, and Arias doesn’t have that same attacking presence.

But his challenge is not to match the Brazilian’s output. That’s too big of an ask initially. He has to make the loss feel less, and Arias has shown enough to get fans believing again.
A good season for Arias is one where he settles quickly, contributes regularly, and establishes himself as a starter. Anything more is a bonus.
