Wolves star Matheus Cunha named the best player who has ever asked for his shirt

Matheus Cunha may be a superstar for Wolves, but even he feels humbled when players ask for his shirt.

Cunha has established himself as Wolves’ best player in recent times, and is very much seen as the ‘face’ of the club now.

It’s been another stellar season for himself personally, despite some disciplinary lapses, and had it not been for his continued brilliance, Wolves would be in real trouble right now.

He is a player who other players seek out for his shirt, and Matheus Cunha recently revealed the best player who’s ever asked him for his jersey.

Wolves recently put out an intriguing video featuring Cunha and what a day in his life looks like.

The club were invited along into the player’s home, and Cunha was able to showcase things like his shoe and shirt collections.

Cunha has a lot of shirts from top stars in the game, such as Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Mo Salah.

You would think that perhaps one of those players would be the best to ask Cunha for his shirt.

But that honour actually goes to someone else.

Holding up a Thiago Silva shirt, he said: “When you play Chelsea and Thiago asked me for my shirt, the you think like ‘Wow’. He was for me one of the best Brazilian defenders of all-time.

“When he asked me, yes we won the game but he is still one of my references of the country. Then he said ‘I don’t care give me the shirt’, and it was something funny for me. It was very cool.”

Wolves were once linked with Thiago Silva

Thiago Silva is without doubt one of the best defenders of his generation.

He has enjoyed a brilliant career and is actually still playing over in Brazil, where he is the captain of Fluminense, the club Wolves signed Andre from.

Premier League watchers got to see what he was all about when he moved to Chelsea, with whom he spent four seasons.

That was quite a surprise since he signed for the Blues at 35 years old. But Silva’s age never proved to be an issue.

Interestingly, Wolves were actually linked with Thiago Silva (Goal) just before his move to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.

Given the impressive performances he put in for Chelsea, Wolves definitely missed out.
