Wolves star does not sound like he’s going anywhere, after previous exit links

One Wolves player who was linked with an exit from the club earlier this summer has made some fresh comments to suggest that he will not be going anywhere in this window.

Gary O’Neil has overseen a productive pre-season so far, with Wolves winning four out of their five games up to now.

Training has been intense, and the camp is happy.

Fans are feeling very optimistic about 2024/25. There were some very positive signs last season, and now O’Neil has actually been able to prepare for this new campaign – something he obviously did not get to do a year ago.

It is going to be interesting to see how the squad changes between now and the start of the campaign.

But one man who does not look like he’ll be going anywhere in the coming weeks is Pablo Sarabia.

The fans are not the only people encouraged by what they have seen so far in pre-season.

Pablo Sarabia has been in the thick of it, and he has been speaking to the Wolves official website about the recent trips to Marbella and Miami.

O’Neil has really put the players through their paces.

There has been a big emphasis on getting the players as fit as possible, and pressing hard in these pre-season games in preparation for competitive games.

The sessions have made an impression on experienced star Sarabia, who before his move to Molineux and before a loan spell with Sporting CP was training with Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar under the likes of Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino.

Sarabia was linked with an exit from Wolves earlier this summer. Apparently, two clubs in Saudi Arabia were keen to snap him up. Al-Ettifaq and Al-Shabab have both liked the player.

It would perhaps be an easy move for Sarabia, 32, to make at this stage of his career.

It was also suggested Wolves could have looked to offload him due to his high wages.

But he does not sound like a man who is going anywhere. He told the Wolves official website after his brace against RB Leipzig: “We are ready for this season and I’m very excited for the new season because I believe a lot in this team.

“We really want to play at home in front of our own supporters and show with this team what we can do this year. I’m happy with the goals, but I’m happier with the result and the performance.”

Sarabia even mentioned about being ready for the first Premier League game against Arsenal.

Sarabia must step up for Wolves this season

There are some Wolves fans who still feel as though they haven’t seen the very best of Sarabia yet in a Wolves shirt.

Arguably, since his arrival, he hasn’t quite delivered in the way many expected.

He’s had some amazing moments, such as the volley he scored against Tottenham Hotspur last season at Molineux. But the Spaniard has not really been all that consistent.

He has been at the club for a while now and should have a good enough feel for English football.

As the highest-earning player at Molineux and a player with huge experience, it is on him to really deliver this season. He certainly sounds up for the challenge, at least.
